The Operational Controller will provide an in-house weather advisory service to company pilots. The Operational Controller will also provide operational guidance to pilots on regulatory compliance issues as they may arise pertaining to company policy or federal regulations. Through the Datalink department, he/she will assist the Operations Center Communication Supervisor and MedLink in providing mutual management of air ambulance crews performing the company mission.

Qualifications:

A.  Background in the helicopter EMS industry.

B.  Knowledge of communications centers common operating practices and procedures

C.  Meteorologist background desired

D.  Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations(FAR's)

Duties:

A. Monitor, evaluate, and report upon request pertinent weather information from in-house weather advisory service to company pilots.

B. Develop and advise company pilots of operational windows in support of the air ambulance mission.

C. Provide real-time in-house mutual management of company air ambulance crews in conjunction with the on-duty Communication Center Supervisor.

D. Provides risk assessment analysis across the service area by base through evaluation of pilot capabilities, weather trending, and type of flight.

E. Will conduct classroom training on weather subjects as outlined by the company pilot training manual for new hire and recurrent pilot classes.

This is a regular, full-time position, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Some travel to other base and training locations may be required.

Description - The Head of Training will report to the General Manager and is the designated post-holder under UAE CAR-OPS 3.175 (JAR-OPS equivalent). He is responsible to the General Manager for the development and administration of training programs necessary for personnel involved in the conduct or support of flight operations. He shall liaise, as required, with other personnel in the development, completion and checking of these programs.

Responsibilities - The Head of Training will be required to:

·         coordinate and ensure currency of the content of aircraft training programs;

·         coordinate with training pilots and the type technical pilot, where applicable, current training practices, procedures and training materials;

·         Liaise with training pilots with regard to flight and ground training of all flight crew members, including initial, recurrent, transition, differences and upgrade training;

·         Monitor the quality of training programs including regular audits of simulator courses and reviews against changes in regulations and best industry practices;

·         maintain and amend the training syllabus and resource library for all flight operations training courses;

·         advise on, set and coordinate all strategic training goals and objectives of the organization, including the development and support of flight oriented training programs for crews involved in flight operations;

·         Select and supervise Company Training Pilots and Type Rating Examiners;

·         research new training technology and outside training resource liaison;

·         integrate and maintaining in-house and third party computer based training (CBT) programs;

• Monitor quality of record keeping systems and training records;
• Maintain own professional currency;
• Instruct non-cockpit initial and recurrent training; as required

Qualifications and Experience – The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and experience:

• Valid ICAO ATPL with Instrument Rating and the following minimum flight experience:

• Total time: 3,000 hrs
• Total PIC in helicopters: 1,500 hrs
• Total PIC in M/E helicopters: 1,200 hrs
• at least 250 hours under IFR;
• min. 100 hrs PIC on the AW 139
• training experience on the AW 139 or other heavy, EFIS aircraft.

• Experience in course development and instruction;
• Must be able to understand and interpret the regulations (JAA/EASA, UAE CAR-OPS) that pertain to training and licensing;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Team player with exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
• Initiative in improving systems and procedures;
• Must be familiar with computer-based office systems;

Coastal Helicopters (VNY) has an opening for a seasonal A&P mechanic for the upcoming 2010 Fire Season.

Requires USFS carding on the AS350 B3 Astar, and a regular drivers license with a HazMat endorsement.

This position is for our USFS Contract at Independence, Ca.

This is a seasonal position, from late may, through October 1^st, with a 12 on, 2 off schedule.

Housing will be provided while on contract, and per diem will be paid. You must be an experienced field mechanic, with Astar experience, and you must have held an A&P for 5 years, and have a clean driving record. You should be familiar with both Eurocopter and Turbomeca platforms to apply for this position. An Inspection Authorization is a plus, but not required.

This is a combined FSV/Mechanic’s position, so you’ll be tasked with fueling and driving duties, along with daily and 100 hour inspections while on contract, and any required trouble shooting that comes up.
